Last Thursday, 9 November, AgriShare won the 'Jury's Choice' award at the latest WFP Innovation Pitch Night. Developed by Welthungerhilfe, a German NGO, AgriShare is an online platform that helps smallholder farmers buy or loan tools and machinery from local vendors.

AgriShare was one of six up-and-coming start-ups to pitch their idea at the event, held at the Google Campus in Munich, Germany. In front of a full house, teams shared their solutions to hunger with the aim of securing up to USD 100,000 in support from the WFP Innovation Accelerator.

Pitch Night was the closing act of an intensive five day boot camp held at the Accelerator. Participating teams, who had fought off competition from more than 400 applicants in the Summer, worked with innovation and humanitarian experts to tailor their solutions to field level challenges, refine project plans and discover the new tools and approaches that could help them.

If you missed the event, you can watch it again through WFP Berlin's Facebook page.
