In Ethiopia, WFP established a dedicated Innovation and Private Sector Engagement unit in 2023 to help integrate innovation across its operations, enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and catalyse the private sector's role in scaling up and sustaining impact. This cross-functional unit, which spans all programme operations, is leading strategic initiatives such as drafting the Country Office Innovation Strategy and conducting Private Sector Mapping. These efforts lay the foundations for spearheading innovation and fostering local enterprise development.
