Last week we were proud to be included in Fast Company’s ‘The Most Innovative Companies of 2017 by Sector’, for food. Despite only launching officially in July 2016, our “Silicon Valley approach to the fight against world hunger” earned WFP's Innovation Accelerator a place on the respected list.

This year marked the 10th edition of the Fast Company World's Most Innovative Companies ranking. According to their website , the Fast Company ‘reporting team sifts through thousands of enterprises each year, searching for those that tap both heartstrings and purse strings and use the engine of commerce to make a difference in the world. Impact is among our key criteria.’

WFP was placed alongside both established companies such as Starbucks, and upcoming organisations including Farmers Business Network.  Recognising the Accelerator's desire to test fast, find what works, and scale it across our global operations, the magazine noted how ‘each investment should have an immediate impact and the potential to become sustainable.’

If you’re interested in receiving support from the WFP Innovation Accelerator, visit our current call for applications to the 2017 Global Impact Challenge. Together with Silicon Valley’s Singularity University, we’re searching for bold solutions to hunger in emergency situations.  Applications close on 10 March 2017.
