Project overview

AquaPoro is a home and commercial solution that produces clean, drinkable water from the air at an affordable cost.

The problem

Water scarcity, intensifying with climate change, is hitting Jordan hard as it battles severe droughts, over-extraction and pollution. These challenges are compounded by refugee influxes diminishing per capita water availability.

The solution

AquaPoro is a state-of-the-art residential and commercial appliance that provides clean, drinkable water for domestic household, office, school, clinic and community center use. It is designed to provide water directly from the air regardless of the region, climate or environment that it operates within.

The WaHa device, which produces up to 20 liters of clean, drinking water per day from the air, is pictured.

The way forward

AquaPoro is able to produce 15-20 litres of water per day at a price point of six cents per litre, as opposed to 50 cents per litre for commercial water. The team is partnering up with local banks to provide these devices on a loan which can be paid over one and a half years.

AquaPoro is set to fill orders for 1,007 devices starting in April 2024. It aims to deliver 13,500 units across Jordan and the Guld Cooperation Council (GCC), directly benefiting over 75,000 people with over 694,664 m³ of clean water in three years.

The AquaPoro team (from left to right: Obeida Mudraj, Husam Almassad, Fouad Rihani, and Suhaib BaniHani) unboxes the first manufactured sample of WaHa.
