Project overview

AquaPoro is a home and commercial solution that produces clean, drinkable water from the air at an affordable cost.

The challenge

Water scarcity, intensifying with climate change, is hitting Jordan hard as it battles severe droughts, over-extraction and pollution. These challenges are compounded by refugee influxes diminishing per capita water availability.

The solution

AquaPoro is a state-of-the-art residential and commercial appliance that provides clean, drinkable water for domestic household, office, school, clinic and community center use. It is designed to provide water directly from the air regardless of the region, climate or environment that it operates within.

The WaHa device, which produces up to 20 liters of clean, drinking water per day from the air, is pictured.

Results

AquaPoro provides access to drinking water for households through clean energy. AquaPoro has the ability to develop innovative products based on new science and engineering in very short timeframes. Through WFP Innovation Accelerator’s sprint, AquaPoro refined their water dispenser appliance, and soon hopes to deploy it in the field and have tangible results on affected communities during the first half of 2025.
